Join us in this interactive workshop at the Goodies Junction in Mugga Lane to learn all things about sustainability in education! The unique workshop location provides participants with hands on learning experiences in a real operating environment.
Participants will examine what sustainability is, how sustainability can be used to meet a broad range of outcomes in the Australian Curriculum, Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards and explore the waste hierarchy. Participants will design learning activities using items found in the Goodies Junction retail space and also have the opportunity to upcycle items into something new. We will reflect on how these activities can be transferred into the classroom to empower students to care for the environment and responsibly manage waste.
This 2 hour workshop is ideal for teachers, educators and learning support assistants looking to upskill in sustainability and bring sustainable practice to your classrooms, schools and early learning centres!
